Disaster Preparedness Workshop

Saturday September 21st

ASUMC is hosting a training program on “Disaster Preparedness for Your Home” from 9 - 11am Saturday September 21 in the Sanctuary. 

 

The program will be conducted by a highly experienced, certified Early Response Team (ERT) Trainer, who volunteers for the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church (NCCUMC) Disaster Ministries. 

 

Connecting Neighbors is an UMCOR designed course for local churches to help prepare the local community to plan and prepare for disaster response.

Saturday Morning  |  9AM-11AM  | September 21st

What's included in the 2 hours?

Two hours of a Saturday morning to help you be prepared for flooding and hurricanes

  • Basics for a preparation kit and a list to go on what to have on hand to prepare your home
  • Ample time for Q&A
  • Invitation to serve more in NC Disaster recovery if you would like to give back this fall

Who's Leading the Workshop?

Jim Polhamus: 

  • 8 years as an UMCOR certified Early Response Team volunteer
  • 2 years as a Certified Early Response Team Trainer with a focus on Disaster Preparedness for individuals, churches and local communities
  • Highly experienced from many disaster early response trips in North Carolina and the Southeastern US
