VBS Saturday Event!

July 26 - 9am-2pm

This summer, All Saints’ UMC is hosting “Wanderin' & Wonderin'” VBS on Saturday, July 26th from 9am-2pm! All children ages 4 through 5th grade are invited to join us as we spend the day singing songs, doing crafts, playing games, and putting on our cowboy hats to learn about Bible stories with a Western-flare. Cost for VBS will be $20, which will cover craft supplies, lunch, and a t-shirt. We also invite you to join us on Sunday, July 27th at 10:30 am for our VBS Sunday Service: the kiddos will perform the songs they learned, we will display the artwork they made, we will have one final Western-themed Bible lesson, and we will have a celebration reception to wrap up our "Wanderin' and Wonderin'" VBS. Register for VBS here by July 18th, and please fill out one form per child!

Ongoing Info

Missions and Community Engagement - As we begin a new Christian Church year with the season of Advent, there are many ways that you can have an impact on the lives of those who need a helping hand.
Brier Creek Elementary School will begin a “Read A Book, Get A Book” after-school program in January and has asked us to partner with them. Reading sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday 3:45 - 4:45pm. A link to sign up for the program and submit a volunteer background check online is provided in our weekly email.

PB&J Collection - Parktown Food Hub shares the gift of food with people who are in all kinds of need. Through your donation of peanut butter and jelly, staple foods for the over 120 families in the program, you are giving food insecure families the gift of a stable source of food for their family. A collection bin may be found in the Vestibule.

Zoe Empowers - Are you still trying to decide what gift to give to that someone who doesn’t need another sweater, tie, or what not? Then how about donating to our Zoe Empowerment Group, Faraja “Comfort” Manyire Nduruma in Arusha, Tanznia? Over the next three years we are financially supporting the 23 youth-led households with a total of 81 children that make up the “Comfort” Empowerment Group. Through the guidance of Zoe Empowers, they will be equipped with solutions to overcome extreme poverty—for good. Donation cards will be available in the Vestibule.

Hygiene Kits for Annual Conference Mission Project The NC Annual Conference meets June 13-15 in Greenville, NC. All Saints’ official members are Terry Curro (lay member) and Chae Albright (clergy member). As an outreach project, the Conference is asking members to donate menstrual hygiene kits and/or supplies to be used locally and globally as part of disaster response, as well as in areas around the world where girls and women are not able to attend school or work because they do not have access to these basic products. If you’d like to help, please review the shopping list of items needed here, and purchase supplies to complete a whole kit or to be used along with other supplies for kit assembly. Donations should be delivered to the Ministry Center no later than Sunday, June 9 at noon. Immediately after worship on that date, there will be a bring-your-own lunch hygiene kit assembly gathering in Room 5 for any who wish to help with assembling kits and packing boxes for transport to Greenville later that week. Contact Terry Curro if you have questions or want more information.

Port Pillows Now Available at All Saints’ All Saints’ Needlecrafter’s Ministry now offers Port Pillows to our church and local communities. Port pillows are typically used by patients that have had a “portacath” implanted in their chest to aid regular chemotherapy, dialysis and similar medical treatment sessions. The port pillow attaches to the seat belt of a car and provides a soft cushion over the portacath area to reduce irritation from the seat belt. If you are interested in more information about the port pillows, or are aware of an existing need for them either from an individual or a facility, please contact Rosemary Fonte.
