CALLED TO CARE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

As a ministry of the church, All Saints’ United Methodist believes we are called to care for children, show concern for families, and provide support and nurture for our own congregation and for the surrounding community through the Preschool.

 

Our Preschool ministry is here to serve children and families by creating a foundation for social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth and development in a nurturing, Christian environment.  Our daily schedule consists of discovery play, circle times, enrichment classes, outdoor play, crafts, and more. Classes are offered on Monday through Thursday mornings from 9:15am to 12:15pm for children ages 22 months through 4 years old. See below for more information about our curriculum, schedule, and teachers!

Caterpillar Classroom

Our All Saints’ Preschool Toddler and Twos classroom is full of hands on experiences, free and guided play, music and movement, outdoor exploration, early literacy activities, and much more. Our teachers create a safe and fun space for the children to discover, communicate and problem solve regularly through their play. Their vocabulary, motor and social skills, and adaptability explode during this year of preschool as they navigate their classroom, use a variety of materials, and engage with teachers and peers. They also participate in our weekly Music and Yoga enrichment programs.

3 Year Olds

Butterfly Classroom

Our All Saints’ Preschool three-year-olds are immersed in a literacy rich environment from the moment they walk in the door. They are encouraged to play, explore and discover through a variety of hands-on experiences throughout the day that help develop their social, physical, and academic skills. Our teachers uses circle time and table activities to guide their learning and introduce them to new and exciting concepts. The Heggerty Early Pre-Kindergarten Phonemic Awareness curriculum is integrated seamlessly into their daily lessons. The children also participate in Yoga, Chapel, and Music classes.

4 Year Olds

Bumblebee Classroom

Our All Saints’ Preschool Four-Year-Old classroom is filled with exciting hands-on-learning experiences throughout each day. There are stations set up and open spaces available that encourage exploration and engagement with letters, numbers, science, social studies, art and more. The students are encouraged to problem solve, interact with teachers and peers through lessons and play, use new or different materials, engage with their imaginations, and communicate their needs and wishes with one another. Their circle times include a variety of songs, finger plays, books, vocabulary building, phonemic awareness and phonics instruction using the Heggerty Pre-Kindergarten curriculum, and more. They have daily outside time where they can run, jump, balance, climb, and imagine. The Bumblebees also have enrichment times scheduled during the week for Chapel, Music, and Yoga.
